You could die walking out your front door so saying if you join you'll die is kinda an empty statement. People telling you what to do...well that in just about every job, gotta be up at a certain time to get to work on time, take lunch when it time to so really think about it, does it feel like this is some thing I ! should do, if not I'm sure you'll find something you're good at if you do then I wish the best of luck to you....answers 4:Pros: you get to go and see places you never would have seen. You can learn about other cultures.Get a regular pay check and have medical and dental insurance. There is no co pay or anything if you go on post or base.If you stay in the hospital you only have a small fee for food and such.Con:You will have some one who tells you what to do all the time. You live where they tell you.Get up when they tell you.Sleep when they tell you.Eat when they tell youTo sum it up, the military owns you and when you sign on the dotted line, you are military property....answers 5:Pros:1. I was stationed overseas and the travel was great. Our homeport was Japan and I liked it but the biggest problem is you have no home life unless you are married and can afford to bring your wife over to live on base. Next I think it's the long working hours at sea. I liked serving my country and would have liked to ship over and become a electronics welfare tech but I had been overseas for 40 months and so decided to come home. I think the best thing the service has to offer is the 20 year retirement and medical benefits you get and my ship had pretty good food....answers 10:Does ANYBODY on here use spell-check? Jesus....Hope this helps.Pros: You gain discipline, camaraderie, purpose, good physical health, and an appreciation for your freedom. You get m! oney for college, plus a lot of extra money when you deploy (which is t! ax-free.) You get decent healthcare at no cost. You get a steady paycheck and job security.Cons: You work hard and often. You have to follow rules and regulations and codes of conduct. You don't always have a say in what's going on. You can get yelled at a lot if you are a screw-up. You could be injured or killed during your time in service....
