How to entice intelligent Americans into becoming Primary Care Physicians?

Rena Pepe: Are those quotes to imply you don't believe terrorists exist? I guess the next fear: is can we be safe if the government is run by "intelligent liberals" like yourself?

Isreal Kochheiser: provide free malpractice insurance

George Dingeldein: No End in Sight

Angel Klym: wow I forgot 1 last "s" in terrorsts" thanks for killing it Kenny

Moises Rupinski: Decreasing the costs of medical school, and making the school requirements easier. The problems are state run medical schools have become government run businesses for the sole benefit of the people who are employed at them, and they are no longer focusing on their primary purpose. The U.S. should require reform, or cease to fund them and their NIH research. If we focused on fixing our medical schools we would not be importing below standard doctors from other countries. (In other countries, becoming a doctor is much easier than in America)...Show more

Barrett Felicia: Simple. Governme! nt needs to look from within and change the mess they created. Currently, Medicare/Medicaid/ and SCHIP funding pays per-service per patient. The government now is cutting back on payments, so the doctors rush through patients so the doctor can pay his bills. The formula for government payments to doctors doesn't encourage thrift. If you have a 'group weight loss' visit to tell patients how to manage diabetes, for example. The government won't pay you. You have to tell each patient individually to get paid. Add a specialist in the group to answer questions, he won't get paid either....Show more

Shon Almquist: Global warming nuts also going to need to find something to scare us with since that was a scam too

Davis Zou: no. Modern wars do not require vast amounts of manpower like they used to. Plus, the only peacetime draft in US history was before WWII.

Mitchel Demry: There's a cycle: First it's terrorists, then illegal aliens, then all aliens, then all no! n-whites, then ACORN, then New Black Panthers, then back to te! rrorists again.Every mass movement needs someone to hate. Conservatives in particular cannot survive without a good heavy dose of hatred.

Gladys Worthing: Fear of terrorism will never end. That's the beauty of it.

Carlee Tangaro: The Supreme Court will be deciding if the government can force us to buy health insurance from a private corporation. The government forces us to buy auto liability insurance from a private corporation. I am at a loss to see the difference.

Nicolasa Henke: I read that in the pass few years they have been trying to bring back the draft is this true?

Josefine Weekey: Okay, then I will have to opt out of getting sick and going to an emergency room and stick you with the bill because I do not have health insurance, right? Well, I will not opt out and I will go to the emergency room and I will stick you with the bill and there will be many millions of others doing the same thing and sticking you with that bill, too.2 seconds ag! o...Show more

Betsey Copp: Little Wayne clones

Hipolito Rightmire: Well you can choose to buy a car or not (although this is debatable, where I live you wouldn't be able to have a job or go anywhere if you didn't have a car). You don't choose to have a body/need healthcare. If anything, mandating health insurance makes more sense than mandating car insuranceI'm for universal healthcare....Show more

Donte Liversedge: Agreed... There will always be terrorism in some form or another. Always has been.

Raleigh Lufkin: The first solution to the problem is the physicians assistant (PA). They are usually just as qualified in general patient care as a primary physician. They can see patients and treat patients and would be a great alternative for practices looking to add someone to their staff, to hiring a very expensive MD (PAs are paid well though).Second, is there has to be some sort of financial benefit for them. Ultimately, if universal health care cannot! pay doctors the money they would be making in a private sector they wi! ll not do it. They work too hard in school, and take on too much debt to want do it in an overworked and underpaid way. If somebody spent 8 years in business school they would expect to be paid too so its not just selfish doctors.EDIT: Mike --- you are completely off base. The number of medical students admitted is limited by the amount of time each institution expects to spend on each student. If you inflate the size of an incoming class without adjusting the teaching staff, internship slots, and physical resources the amount of time each student spends in contact decreases. I do not think it is a stretch to suggest the lack of contact time can lead to a decrease in quality educations....Show more

Idell Syed: To get more doctors into primary care, the price of primary care has to go up, or the process more efficient.

Mercedez Trabue: If Obama's plan passes, all the doctors will become "boutique" and you won't be able to find much more than a CNA.

Matt Ger! deman: Well, 0bama plans to cut their salaries, tell them what, when and where they can practice, increase their hours... Reckon that'll draw new MDs and RNs in by the thousands after piling up a hundred thousand dollars in student loans...

Len Bormes: Tens of thousands of qualified students are turned away from American Medical Schools every year. The reason is that the American Medical Association deliberately limits the number of traiining slots at American Medical Schools to create an artificial shortage of physicians and keep physicians wages high. The key to your problem is to dramatically increase the number of places for the training of physicians.Every student who is qualified should have the right to attend Medical School. this will end the current artificial shortage of physicians....Show more

Darwin Ecton: I don't think you'll be able to convince too many people that going through four years of medical school hell should be followed by anything less th! an pursuing their dreams of becoming a surgeon, etc. We could educate m! ore practical nurses to deal with patients who have the flu, broken arms, etc. It only takes a masters degree for that.

Inge Mclaurine: Remember: 1/2 of the graduating class is in the bottom 50%.Lots of doctors quit practicing because of the cost of malpractice insurance. Two I know moved to California one became a prison doctor and the other went into medical research. Family physicians don't go to hospitals, they send their patients to doctors that have hospital privileges. Another doctor I know just quit accepting insurance, patients pay him directly; he got fed up with insurance company regulations. With good use of physician assistants, lower medical school costs, fewer malpractice 'diagnostic' tests and lower malpractice insurance costs doctors will become available. Doctors will go back into medicine, doctors will come out of the military and more doctors will graduate than lawyers. The system works well everywhere else in the world....Show more

R! amon Dahlheimer: No one is going to want to goto school to be a doctor, spend years of their life in college and have a HUGE school loan to pay back if Obama passes this healthcare plan. There will be no financial incentive to do it, and the money could be more easly gotten elsewhere, therefore we will have alack of Dr's

Eldridge Rieves: Taxes and healthcare. You have a good day now

Irma Poiter: India of direction, india has maintained a reliable GDP fee in previous few years it particularly is barely next to china. whilst extremely some the international locations suffered for the duration of recession India remained extremely good. US President Obama pronounced India has already emerged from recession and could be a international superpower via 2020 in his modern pass to to Asian international locations.

Marco Stolarz: Perhaps you mean terrorism or terrorists? To answer your question, however, I would say people who don't understand grammar.

Reyes ! Brunell: Lack of oxygen.
