Cheap ways to decorate an apartment?

Ronnie Sardi: girl, if you have a family dollar around that is your answer! they have everything from clocks, picture frames, pictures to hang on the wall kncik knacks, lamps and even rugs its so cheap too you will find everything you need i promise

Keven Drumgole: You CAN paint the walls, you just have to repaint them before you leave... However, since you are in college, you are probably not talking long-range living..... Go to garage sales and resale shops and look for pictures in very cool frames. Discard the pictures. Buy yourself a basic digital camera and go on "field trips" taking photos of things that please you. Load these onto your computer and play with cropping, effects, black and white, etc. until you are happy with what you created. Save the photo onto a CD and go online and find a place that will blow it up to size for a reasonable price. Check with Walgreen's, CVS, Target and Kmart for comparison pricing. Arrange a "gallery" of your work on any full! walls you may have. I have done this with a hallway and it looks awesome!! I have the frames all touching each other, 3 frames high, all different kinds, but I painted the frames all the same color. I can change them out anytime I want to. It gives me great pleasure to see the faces, stills, animals and think of the time and place I took them. Fill corners with plants and be creative!! I took an old weathered pot ( it was BIG!) and found an old wrought iron "thingy" that I wound fake ivy on. It looks like an expensive topiary! It cost little to nothing with garage sale finds, a little imagination and some moss I glued around the top of the pot. Consider displaying a collection. CDs work great as wall art! Either on shelving placed close together but at different heights, or buy a few CD towers and group them together. Purses (small ones!) also make great wall art. I have a rack with pegs on it (looks like a diamond pattern and can be stretched) out of wood that I hang anti! que purses on. I even had some plexiglass cut to fit across tw! o of them so that I can sit a few purse on the "shelves" I created... Magazines and magazine covers make a nice, mod statement, when framed also...... Hope some of this helps you out!...Show more

Christopher Calcano: I would say anything in the room that is a light slate blue, or maybe a crisp creamwill work, I think it would really help if you go to a paint store and pick many different paint samples, and use them to see what will work best with your walls, it will give you some good ideas what colors of rugs to get, lamp shades, picture frames, you could buy some really cheep picture frames and paint them the color that works well with your walls,

Clay Lipira: this is a neutral color so go with wat eva color u want! i wudn't suggest green coz taupe is 2 similar to it. u decide wat ur main color is gonna be. buy a rug that makes the place look modern & sheek (preferably black, white & the color u choose), buy some vases to decorate the place. plants always bri! ghtens & freshens a room so get 1! if u want a modern looking apartment get silver photo frames but if u want an oldish-antique lookin apartment go with a dark colored wooden photo frames (for walls & for putting on surfaces)hope i helped :)...Show more
