Hilma Pestano: IF the USA wanted to switch to all electric cars, it would require a 10 year lead time to get electrical supplies ready for it and get production of electric vehicles that far ahead.But the first and biggest problem for the USA is that nobody is ready to make any such decision, certainly not government. So, any such decision would have to come from private industry. And private industry just does not know which way to turn.Electric car makers are inhibited by cool reception in the marketplace and inadequate electrical supplies. Grid management has no clear signal of what if anything they should be planning for.
