Jesse Pirieda: College courses are usually Colonial times to Civil War in one class and the rest of US history in another class so 1 year.
Ofelia Kieck: US history is fairly interesting. Especially if you like conflict and would like to know how our modern world kind of came into fruition. It depends on how long you want to spend learning it. If you just want a basic run through like looking at a timeline with a little depth, it shouldn't take you long at all. If you want to get really in depth with it it may take some time.Still though, the US has only been around since the late 1700s so it's not nearly as long as learning about Italy or something like that....Show more
Caterina Yeargan: American History is very interesting, probably the most interesting of history. In California, 8th graders are required to learn American History from 1600-1914. Obviously, this takes about a year. Don't forget the Road to Revolution, American Revolution, the Constitution, ! Political Parties history, The split of america (before the civil war), westward expansion (wild west!), The Civil War, and the Age of Industry (which continues to this day.) As for 1914-now, I'd look at the archives of TIME magazine, which was first published in 1923. Between there, you didn't miss much. (See source for website)...Show more
Melina Minneweather: I do not find American history interesting, I much prefer Mesoamerican and European history. The time it takes would depend on how deeply you want to delve into the history. A brief, basic knowledge could take you a week (assuming you spend that week entirely on studying history), but deeper and more in-depth studies could take years to complete.
Flor Lizardi: Yes, US history is very interesting, but it isn't as long as European and Asian histories. How long it takes depends a lot on what threshold you have. You could read a few textbooks and be reasonably knowledgeable, but not an expert, in a very sho! rt time if you read quickly and retain what you read......
!Sonya Volcko: read "a people's history of the united states" by howard zinn. very interesting reading. it will make history enjoyable as well as learning facts that are never talked about
